As we all know about Chronic Dev Team,they are Known as iphone and ipad jail-breaker they hav Done many times and again they are getting ready to jailbreak ios 5, Recently Chronic Dev Team has announced that they have 5 Userland Exploits to jailbreak ios 5.

at MyGreatFest (Jailbreak Convention) POsixninja graced the stage to talk about what is in the works for the iPhone 5 Jailbreak and exploits for iOS 5. The news is huge for anyone eager to get their hands on an iPhone 5. Userland jailbreaks refer to an exploit found in the software (iOS 5) rather than a hardware exploit. These are easily patched via an iOS update (ie. 5.0.1, etc).

While this is a “record breaking number of exploits found”, userland exploits can be easily fixed via a minor software update. By keeping the exploits secret, the Chronic Dev Team is hoping that Apple won’t fix them before the expected iOS 5 launch next month.

P0sixninja looked ecstatic when he gave the announcement a few minutes ago, in which it was stated that iPad 2 and the iPhone 5 can be jailbroken using five userland exploits which have been discovered over time. [..]

[..] What is even more fantastic about this news is how all of these exploits are userland ones. And as quoted by P0sixninja himself “it’s the record breaking number of exploits found”.

These userland exploits are, as suggested by the name, related to software. Unlike hardware-based exploits, these can be patched. A hardware revision wouldn’t matter that much in this case.
